JONAS GWANGWA, jazz legend of note, stole the show at this year’s annual DRUM Beat Festival. For the fifth year, music lovers flocked to hear muzos do their thing, and close to 5000 people turned up at the Soweto Theatre.
And they were not disappointed with the stellar line-up: MAX-HOBA, AKA, PAUL HANMER, MI CASA, TOYA DELAZY AND CASSPER NYOVEST, among others, rocked them until the early hours.
As impressive as the line-up was, Jonas clearly took centre stage. “It’s my first time performing at DRUM Beat and what a great debut,” he said backstage.
