After much convincing, the couple agreed to chat to us and even granted us the opportunity of doing a photo shoot with our team. IT’S A grim truth for millions of South African children: being forced to grow up destitute because one of their parents – usually the father – does everything in their power to avoid paying maintenance. But dodgy dads and missing moms beware: the Government is instituting new measures in a bid to get you to pay up and ensure as many kids as possible are supported by both their parents. Parliament has adopted the Maintenance Amendment Bill to force absent parents to face their responsibilities.
