Monique Moorcroft died in September after Professor Peter Beale performed surgery to remove a colostomy bag. She ended up staying at Netcare Park Lane Hospital for 12 days while they sorted out complications which arose after it emerged one of the clips Prof Beale inserted in the colon had come loose. Thuso Mokoena was stunned at the casual way Prof Beale removed a feeding tube that had been inserted in his six-month-old son’s stomach. “He pulled it, and not even gently, he just pulled it and left, and the baby cried,” Mokoena told News24. “He cried until he was exhausted.” The boy died that day hours after his parents took him home.
