There’s no word yet when the second season of the hauntingly raw, scary and occasionally darkly funny Euphoria will return, but until it does we have the show’s score to tide us over.
The music, composed by British singer-songwriter-producer Timothy Lee McKenzie (30), aka Labrinth, was his first stab at composing for the screen – between dropping an album and co-writing Beyoncé’s Spirit for this year’s Lion King remake.
His music, before and for Euphoria, is a mash-up of genres – electronic, hip-hop, R&B, gospel and jungle.
“When you look back to your teenage days it feels semi-magical but semi-crazy and semi-psychotic.
“I wanted to make sure the music felt like those things,” he told Rolling Stone about the soundtrack.
