JUST two days before the blaze that consumed him and two others he was involved in a car crash. He was shaken but unharmed, as were his fiancée and his baby daughter.
But perhaps it would’ve been better if Mduduzi Ndlovu was hurt in the crash, his emotional fiancée, Thanda Ngcobo, says. Perhaps he would still be alive today.
“If he was injured in that accident he wouldn’t have gone to work,” she tells us while fighting back tears.
Instead he was one of the firemen on duty when the Bank of Lisbon building in Johannesburg – which housed the Gauteng departments of health, human settlements, and cooperative government and traditional affairs – went up in flames.
