AS A WORKING mother, this businesswoman knows that skilled help is hard to find, so she started a business that would help all working mothers.
Thembi Hama is the owner of domestic worker training and placement agency Domestic Guardians, based in North Riding, Gauteng. Her agency trains domestic helpers not only in housekeeping but also in first aid and CPR, cooking and baking as well as child-minding.
Thembi (34) insists on screening potential candidates before placing them. “We do pre-employment checks on their work history, criminal records, residential addresses and documents,” she explains. “Our placement fees are affordable, with a one-year guarantee.”
She tells us how she started Domestic Guardians.
