FINDING solutions to help solve the country’s energy crisis is what electrical engineer Heskin Mkando Mzungu’s work is all about. This 32-year-old works for Aurecon, a consulting engineer firm based in Tshwane.
“I provide consulting services for power systems (power stations, transmission and distribution networks, and substations).
“These consulting services include specification, design, testing and site commissioning; system studies (load flows, fault studies and network protection grading) and project management. I’m also very involved in power systems training,” he explains.
Heskin’s days vary and are never the same. He alternates working from his desk preparing reports, designs or managing ongoing projects, and also travels abroad to meet clients to do site work or to attend meetings.
