But Rofhiwa Manwadu, whose cerebral palsy causes him to limp and speak with difficulty, had it much tougher than that. When his mother, Elisa, died eight years ago, his stepfather, Vitus, tried to kick him out of their house and when that didn’t work, he accused him of rape.
Somehow Manwadu was able to put his domestic troubles behind him to become a hero for other disabled, and able-bodied people by becoming a multi-award-winning Special Olympics long-distance runner.
