Happy birthday to the Kawasaki KX, which this year celebrates its 50th anniversary.
The first KX appeared in 1973, and the very next year American racer Jimmy Weinert took the Team Green machine to the top step of the podium in AMA racing.
Other Kawasaki KX racing legends over the past five decades include Jeff Ward, Jeff Emig, Ricky Carmichael, James Stewart, Ryan Villopoto and Eli Tomac, who have all helped Kawasaki amass 63 AMA MX and SX championships and no less than 720 AMA event victories.
