Coming up to its sixth birthday, the Nikon D750 is the most veteran camera in this full-frame quartet. It lacks the competing Canon 6D Mark II’s hybrid sensor-based autofocus system, but for regular viewfinderbased shooting it boasts an excellent 51-point autofocus module, including 15 cross-type points and 11 points that work at f/8.
Further signs of its age are that there’s no touchscreen, although the rear LCD does have a tilt facility. Video capture is limited to 1080p, but typical of conventional DSLRs, autofocus for video and Live View stills is ponderous and prone to hunting.
The newer D780 addresses all of these issues, featuring the same image sensor as the Z 6, adding 4K UHD shooting, and including a touchscreen. However, it costs almost twice as much…
