Northern Cape police spokesperson Captain Olebogeng Tawana said members of the Visible Policing unit in Douglas acted on a tip-off and immediately set up a vehicle checkpoint on the road between Kimberley and Douglas. "The taxi in which the alleged suspect was travelling was stopped at the vehicle checkpoint. Upon searching the taxi, a black bag was found stashed with compressed dagga and the owner of the bag was immediately arrested," said Tawana. According to the Employment and Labour Department’s new code, employers will have permission to require proof of Covid-19 vaccination from staff. Only staff who produce a medical certificate showing that they have contra-indications will be exempted from such a demand from employers. Contra-indications are symptoms or a medical condition that is a reason for a person not to receive a particular treatment or procedure because it may be harmful to them.
