Oh that’s easy—my mom’s rum cake. She would soak the fruit in overproof, dark Jamaican rum, and we had to wait weeks for it to be ready. We might have been more excited about the cake than the holiday itself! A crumbled top apple pie is my family’s go-to because we never feel like making a top crust. We eat it on Christmas morning with hot chocolate after opening presents. To me, no Christmas is complete without a pecan pie.
