On April 1, 2021, the management of the Deer Protection Program (DPP) was transitioned from the Archery Trade Association (ATA) to the Responsible Hunting Scent Association (RHSA). Launched in March, 2016 by the ATA, the DPP was created as a means of combatting the increased nationwide threat of chronic wasting disease (CWD). The DPP’s purpose is to encourage both urine-based scent manufacturers and their suppliers to agree to follow strict guidelines and safeguards on their products to reduce the risk of spreading CWD. Recognizing that both the regulatory and oversight needs of their segment of the industry are very specialized, DPP members organized their own association, the Responsible Hunting Scent Association, incorporating in December, 2020, as a 501(c)6 trade association. Reducing stress goes far beyond what gear you should carry afield. A stressful approach especially applies to stand locations. It might seem that having a lot of stand sites on one property would clutter up one’s hunting approach. However, the opposite is true. The year 2020 will go down in history as the year of COVID-19, a pandemic with far-reaching repercussions in society that won’t all be known for years.
