I call it venison’s “special occasion trap,” and I used to fall victim to it — the idea that venison is suitable only at dinner time (think steaks, chops, roasts, meatloaf, fajitas, kabobs, chili, stew, tacos and more), and at snack-and-appetizer times
(think sausage, sticks, jerky and the like). Sure, there are a lot of options there, but if you like to hunt, chances are you have ample venison available and you are always looking to break out of old molds and find new ways to prepare your deer meat.
