THE Imperial Russian Ballet will return to Australia with Swan Lake this September and October.
Formed in 1994 by Bolshoi Theatre soloist Gediminas Taranda, the company acknowledges and respects the Russian imperial ballet tradition, so it’s no surprise that this production is a traditional one, with only subtle revisions and variations introduced by Taranda.
The company, which comprises 40 dancers, will tour to Canberra, Geelong, Frankston, Melbourne, Launceston, Devonport, Hobart, Cairns, Townsville, Bundaberg, Maryborough, Caloundra, Ispswich, Gold Coast, Toowoomba, Newcastle, Port Macquarie, Sydney, Wollongong, Dubbo and Albury.
