LOCAL students will get a chance to perform onstage with the Imperial Russian Ballet Company, when it tours Australia with its production of The Nutcracker later this year. With its famous Tchaikovsky score, The Nutcracker is a favourite of the Imperial Russian Ballet Company.
Travelling from Moscow, the company is touring to Newcastle, Gold Coast, Caloundra, Maryborough, Rockhampton, Mackay, Charters Towers, Townsville, Port Macquarie, Wollongong, Hobart, Launceston, Devenport, Albury, Frankston, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Ipswich and Toowoomba. The company will be joined on stage by about 40 children, who have been chosen from local ballet schools in each area.
