VALMAI Roberts trained with Sadie Lewis, then with Joan and Monica Halliday, and then at the Australian Ballet School. She danced with the Australian Ballet, Northern Ballet Theatre (Manchester) and the Joffrey Ballet (New York), before retiring from the stage in 1983 to have a family with husband Ross Stretton.
