Police spokesperson Constable Ndakhe Gwala reported: “As the officers approached, the suspect drew a black firearm and aimed it towards them.
“With remarkable composure, the members tactically disarmed the individual, seizing the firearm, which was later revealed to be an imitation weapon.
“He was arrested, this time for possession of an imitation firearm.
In an earlier Wesbank incident, officers spotted a male, believed to be affiliated with a gang, strolling suspiciously on Galvandale Street.
Constable Gwala continued: “Upon noticing the police, the man attempted to flee.
“However, quick-thinking officers pursued him and conducted a thorough search, uncovering a firearm without a serial number concealed in the seam of his pants.
“The suspect was promptly arrested for possession of a prohibited firearm, underlining the unit's commitment to removing dangerous weapons…
