Police have instituted a 72-hour activation plan after seven people were shot dead in cold blood at a traditional ceremony in Gugulethu yesterday.
SAPS spokesperson Brigadier Novela Potelwa says five people were killed on the scene and two died later in hospital.
Sources at the scene told Daily Voice that six armed men opened fire outside a residence and fled in a silver Toyota Avanza.
According to Netcare’s Shawn Herbst, the victims, all males, were shot in the head execution-style.
