Whyte bikes have always been designed in the UK, which gives the brand slightly different priorities from many overseas manufacturers. Ian Alexander, Whyte’s chief designer, is known to put the miles in on his creations, and in presenting the company’s 2024 bikes he also produced a ton of Strava imprints gained over a grim winter. These bikes have been through the wringer in the toughest and sloppiest of UK grime and, importantly, come out the other side.
There is more to the new Whyte E-Lyte flagship than just extra attention on seals, bearings and mud clearance, however.
