When high end interior designer and all-round car guy, Brook Anderson, approached Valley Gas Speed Shop with the idea of building a limited run of re-imagined Jensen Interceptors, he started out on a path that was never going to be an easy one. Jimmy and ‘the unhinged crew’ at VGSS had already built two MGs for Brook, which had subsequently been sold to Scandinavia, so the idea was an extension of those builds. Stuffing a nitro-snorting motor into a short wheelbase chassis, which was partially cloaked in an old style body, was indeed a recipe for an unpredictable race car! The Wiltshire-based company has an enviable reputation when it comes to building classic and contemporary race cars, speed record cars and, most relevant to CC readers, hot rods. PART 1: THE PERFECT PLATFORM Circa 2006, Adam Sayers embarked on a new project. Well, sort of. He did buy a 1930 Model A sedan though, which he then used as a garden shed for a number of years… before it went on to be relocated to his dad’s house, where its function in life remained unchanged. Event: Top Field Car Show Date: 6 August Venue: Ruan Minor, Cornwall Held in the village of Ruan Minor in Cornwall, last summer the Top Field Car Show was back for its second year. Held alongside a classic and vintage rally, the one-day show had everything from vintage cars and tractors to modern stuff. Top Field is the brainchild of local restaurateur Tristan, who wanted to provide a show for all makes and models of cars and bring them together. The field was packed and the bright sun brought tons of people out for the day. For the kids, there was a bouncy castle and a Punch and Judy show.
