These projects have been designed to mark Remembrance Sunday which falls on 14th November this year. It is a day to commemorate British service members who have died in wars and other military conflicts since World War I. A two-minute silence is traditionally observed throughout the country at 11am. Ceremonies are held on this day at churches, war memorials and cenotaphs across the country and abroad. People wear poppies on their clothing to remember those who have lost their lives in battle. Poppy wreaths are also placed at war memorials. The poppy is symbolic as they were the first flowers to grow on the battlefields after World War I ended.
