I would never pretend my job isn't wildly fun. In fact, we had so much fun shooting the women of SNL that we got together for a reunion dinner. I knew much penne and pinot grigio would be consumed, but I wasn't expecting the insight we got into their intense work lives. Their only downtime is Sunday—Monday, they're back at the studio, starting on the next week's sketches. Forty ideas are offered up, of which only 12 are chosen. Those get subjected to endless criticism and rewriting. Some get dropped right before the show airs.
