Another must-have component is system memory, or RAM (random access memory). This enables the CPU to work at its best by ensuring the data it needs to process is always readily available. To this end, that data is first saved within the RAM’s incredibly fast memory then passed on to the CPU, saving the latter from having to fetch it itself, which is a much slower process. However, this still happens if the RAM becomes full, so making sure you have enough memory is important. The advice to hang up and dial your bank was wrong. If the scammer had called you, by staying on the line they will hear your attempt to dial out and simply impersonate your bank answering your call. CASE FANS Ideally your case should already come with a decent array of intake and exhaust fans, but if you want to beef up airflow even more, try adding some of your own. Standalone 120mm fans should fit in almost any chassis, and installing them is just a matter of screwing them on to one of the case’s predetermined fan mounts and plugging it in, either to a fan control hub or directly on to one of the motherboard’s fan connectors. I’ve always liked the additional security of storing an image of the PC, so I also regularly used Macrium Reflect to image the primary SSD. My understanding is that the current generation of imaging software may not yet cope with the different way in which Optane-accelerated drives store data.
