Before the country was put into lockdown, Betsi Mason, 15, was a typical teenager. She worked hard at school and loved spending time with her friends. But in the past 10 weeks, Betsi’s mum, Nicki, 53, has noticed a difference in her daughter. She’s become anxious, withdrawn and struggles to get out of bed in the morning.
Nicki, from Hastings, says, “Lockdown has been tough on her. She feels under pressure to keep on top of her schoolwork, and she’s missing her friends. This is the time in her life when she should be becoming more independent but, instead, she’s stuck indoors.”
