When Armandine Gaulin, 34, split up with her partner and father of her six-year-old daughter Mia in 2018, she ended up living with him for a year afterwards because she couldn’t afford to move out.
Now, however, home is a spacious, four-bedroom Victorian house with a garden, just round the corner from her old flat in Brighton. But it was only possible through an arrangement she made with fellow single mum Sonja de Rooij, 41, who has two children, Milla, five, and Jake, four.
