Gun crime is rife in the US due to the prevalence of firearms. Unlike the UK, it’s legal for any law-abiding citizen in the US to own or carry a gun and it’s estimated 32 per cent of households own a gun. US Citizens don’t need a licence and anyone over the age of 18 can buy a rifle or shotgun from a licensed dealer. Over 21s can also buy handguns. GUILT-FREE TREAT GINGERBREAD SKELETONS STEP 1 Preheat the oven to 210°C/Gas mark 7. Lightly grease two baking trays. STEP 2 Sieve 225g plain flour, 1tsp baking powder, 1 /2tsp bicarbonate of soda and 1tsp ground ginger into a bowl. Add 85g Flora Buttery, 85g soft brown sugar and 85g golden syrup. Mix to form a soft dough. STEP 3 Roll out the dough to a thickness of about 6mm. Use a gingerbread cutter to cut out people shapes, re-rolling any offcuts until all the dough has been used.
