‘She’d fought to live. There’s no way we’d give up on her’ Last November, Kerryanne Maxwell was given the painful news that her three-year-old daughter Sophie, who’d been on a heart transplant waiting list for a year, had sepsis and her heart was failing.
Doctors suggested that one option was to stop all treatment and spend her last days at home in peace. Thankfully, Kerryanne refused, and just 11 days later a donor heart was found for Sophie, who is now thriving.
