Chevy Chevelle 50 Years
Among all the hype surrounding 50 years of the Ford Mustang, a similar milestone for the Chevrolet Chevelle passed almost unnoticed, despite an enthusiastic fan base. First introduced in 1964 and lasting until the name was dropped in 1977, the Chevelle was, much like the Mustang, many cars to many people. Mostly remembered as a muscle car, with powerful, large-capacity engines stuffed into its mid-size body, in its day it could be a mild-mannered shopping car, aworkhorse sales rep’s transportation, a flighty fun car in convertible form and a useful carry-all when bought as the El Camino.
