Setting up the Moses basket, I added toys ready to go.
In just a few days, our baby girl would be here.
My husband David, 44, and I already had two children – Daisy, 11, and Honey, 10.
So, having a third little girl would complete our family.
I went into labour, in August 2017, and with my mother-in-law on cue to look after the girls, I phoned an ambulance.
Being rushed to Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford, David followed just behind.
Only, things quickly changed.
Not long after arriving, I had started bleeding suddenly, and the midwives looked worried.
I heard snatched words.
Placenta abruption…
Caesarean…
And before I knew it, I was being whisked to theatre.
