Crawling into bed, I tried to be as quiet as possible. It was the middle of the night, and I’d just spent ages sat on the loo.
I didn’t want to wake my husband, but it was no use.
‘You OK?’ Daniel, 36, asked.
‘It’s happened again,’ I said.
Back in September 2017, I’d been suffering with painful stomach cramps.
I’d been finding it hard to use the loo, and lately, I’d found blood in the toilet.
‘You need to see a doctor,’ Daniel said, half asleep.
I knew he was right, but, being stubborn, I put it off.
It’s probably nothing, I thought.
But the bleeding continued, and when I read up, I discovered it could be a sign of bowel cancer.
