It’s big on beauty
Car museums are patchy at best, not least because, as machines, cars must be run to be understood. But Alfa’s Museo Storico is different, and a powerful reminder of the marque’s almost peerless back catalogue. There are the pre-war racers in their brutal physicality, the delicate ’52 Disco Volante and ’54 2000 Sportiva, the Montreal, the ultra-wedge Carabo… Alfa, you realise, must go on.
Saloon kings
The original Giulia was created as family transport but, when modified with Alfa’s racing DNA, it became a weapon on track. The reboot, still on sale, is every bit as special. Hurried into production, it’s both stellar to drive and disarmingly pretty.
