Not Tesla’s first car — that was the Roadster, 2008’s electric sports car — but 2012’s S is the one that convinced the rest of the world that Tesla could deliver on their big talk. It’s a fast, near-silent luxury saloon, with one motor at each end and all-wheel drive.
