WITH World Breastfeeding Week observed this week, Genevieve Lewis from Bellville-South has shared her experience of how she learnt to breastfeed as a mother of two.
“With my first baby, I felt overwhelmed,” she said
“Now, with my second, I had a better idea of what to expect, and with the right support, it’s become more manageable. I am committed to continuing until my baby turns two.”
According to Tygerberg Hospital, Lewis’s story is one of many across the Western Cape, showing how support can make all the difference.
“This year’s World Breastfeeding Week theme, ‘Prioritise Breastfeeding: Create Sustainable Support Systems’, recognises that no mother should have to do it alone,” the hospital said.
