A shoot-out between police and criminals driving a Toyota Corolla Quest ended with a dead body in Mandela Park, Khayelitsha, on Tuesday. The car was allegedly recognised from many robberies in and around the area. According to Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid) spokesperson Robbie Raburabu, at about 12 noon on Tuesday police officers from Harare police station received information about the suspicious car being seen in that area. The car was spotted along Walter Sisulu, on the corner of Alfred Jonas Street. The Muslim Judicial Council’s Halaal Trust (MJCHT) has adopted a policy position not to certify any goods or services emanating from Israel, to boycott all Israeli companies and products. The groundbreaking announcement is expected to have an irreversible ripple effect on Muslims and businesses worldwide. MJCHT is a certification body that provides compliance certificates to companies that manufacture food and drink products as well as to restaurants and other similar establishments.
