The South African team beat 17 other countries, ending the competition with 500 points, ahead of hosts Egypt in second place (468 points) and Morocco in third place (410 points). There were nine events in the competition – eight men’s and women’s races in the same categories and one mixed relay race. The Egyptian Diving and Lifesaving Federation (ELDF) sponsored accommodation and meals for the athletes during their stay at the competition.
