Ontario woman smashes overall supported FKT on Bruce Trail
In September, Karen Holland of Kimberley, Ont., set a new fastest known time (supported) on Ontario’s 900-km Bruce Trail, completing the route in eight days, 22 hours and 51 minutes. Holland started at the northern terminus at Tobermory, Ont., on the morning of Sept. 3 and finished in Queenston early on Sept. 12.
Holland’s time was more than four hours faster than the previous record of 9:03:27, set in July 2021 by Kip Arlidge of Sundridge, Ont., and more than three days faster than the fastest time by a female, set by Chantal Demers of Barrie, Ont., in 2017.
