The Caribbean scooped 33 medals, 14 of them Gold, at the Covid-delayed 2020 Olympic Games held in Tokyo, Japan, during July and August. Top of the pile, team-wise, was Cuba, which placed 14th in the medal table with seven golds and 15 medals in total. At an individual level, Jamaica’s sprint queen Elaine Thompson-Herah scooped Gold in the 100m (which saw a Jamaican clean sweep), 200m and 4x100m relay. Elsewhere on the track, the Bahamas showed their prowess at 400m, with Steven Gardiner and Shaunae Miller-Uibo landing the men’s and women’s titles, respectively.
