My father got sicker over time, and his sisters showed up at the end. They were supposed to help us with my father, but they started to resent my sister and me for some reason. I am a Christian Hip-Hop artist out of Norfolk Virginia, and I enjoy touching hearts through my music. My original birthplace was Miami Florida, by way of Charlottesville, Va. I moved to Norfolk after I graduated high school in 1998. My story is incredibly detailed, with a lot of moving parts. My parents separated when I was young, leaving my siblings and me in a single-family household. My mother was left to raise four children, which consisted of twin boys, my younger sister, and me. My sister and I were not allowed to date. We dealt with some tough day to day issues because of some abuse in my mother’s life. Growing up was not easy. I’m the youngest of five siblings, born and raised in Portsmouth Virginia, I was the only child that my mother and father conceived together. My relationship with my mother was toxic, but I wasn’t alone because my siblings suffered but not as much as I did. My mother was educated with a good career, but she wasn’t present for the emotional support that we needed. My mother didn’t provide compassion which made my childhood hard. My emotions made me think it was because I was a daddy’s girl! I experienced different treatment and it affected me mentally. Living Through Adversity Queens, we find out who we are in moments of adversity. The key to overcoming challenges is to lean away from fear and find the courage, strength, and energy to act in direct opposition to keep moving. As women, we have conditioned ourselves to stay consistent throughout our battles. I have learned to accept my difficulties by placing my darkest fears and releasing them with a vision. We can all, in fact, manage our thoughts and emotions by harnessing the energy to a positive outlook with the removal of challenges by building more growth in our lives. The small town of Moore Haven, Florida, is where I was born and raised alongside my four siblings. Straight from high school at the age of eighteen, I joined the USAF. Doing so gave me structure and granted opportunities adjacent to adventures whilst being stationed overseas my entire active-duty career. While serving overseas, I obtained a Bachelor’s degree. Afterward, upon transitioning from Active Duty to Reservist, I decided to further my education by enrolling at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, where I obtained a Master’s degree. As a country girl raised in Lake Charles, Louisiana, I come from a devoutly Southern Baptist family structure. My grandfather was my pastor, and my mother was my Sunday school teacher, praise and worship leader, and just about every other job title in our small-town church. She taught me what it meant to have faith and believe in something with every fiber of your being. Whether organizing children’s bible school, youth encampment, drama club, or helping at the polls, you could always find my mom serving others. I was rescued when life left me unsure of where I should go. I was at the tail end while living at my parent’s house, and the man that I’ve been married to for sixteen years saved me from being homeless. We have been married since I was 17 years old and have experienced ups and downs in our relationship. Relocating from Florida to Virginia Beach VA was a wise decision because at the time I was experiencing so much trauma and abuse during that part of my life.
