As someone who’s eaten peanut butter on the subway (the train was stalled and I was starving, okay?!), I am very down with this whole nut-butter-bar trend. And the bars from Big Spoon Roasters (bigspoonroasters.com), the staff-favorite nut butter company out of Durham, North Carolina, are at the top of my pile. Made with roasted peanuts, wildflower honey, and house-made granola, they’re dense and chewy like peanut butter cookie dough and laced with a healthy sprinkle of sea salt. I’ve tried all four flavors—Cherry Pecan, Cranberry Cashew, Apricot Pepita, and Figgy Chai—and love all my children, but I’m partial to the tartness of the cherry variety.
