SHADOWCAT, the award-winning line of catamaran support yachts, announced today that it has entered a strategic collaboration with Triton Submarines, the leading designer and manufacturer of civilian submersibles, to develop an innovative new Launch and Recovery Craft (LARC), named SHADOWLARK. At 57 metres, with an enclosed vo-lume of approximately 780 GT, she sports a lightweight ultra-efficientient FDHF hull that will give her a top speed of 22 knots with two IMO III-compliant MTU 16V 4000 M65L engines. The pieces we designed for this visionary project were inspired by the complex geometries and patterns found in astronomy. From the craftsmanship perspective, we wanted to ensure the furniture pieces and their design reflect the cutting-edge design of the yacht. The table has been made in dyed ripple sycamore, American black walnut, bronze metallised resin and micro-suede drawer linings. The fractal inlay and chamfered edge design are drawn from the suspension and anticipation associated with table games. It’s always a challenge to fit a games board and drawers (with all the games pieces) into a table whilst keeping the design elegant.
