MAX MILES ON FOOT: 4 MIN TIME: 3 HOURS
This is the highest point in Warwickshire, and commands great views towards the Cotswolds, the Vale of Evesham and well beyond, but it is relatively unwatched by birders. In spring, it’s a great place to stroll and catch up with arriving migrants such as warblers, and possible passage migrants, too.
WHERE TO WATCH
1 Park safely and considerately at the pull-in, and then walk through Madgcombe Coppice. Look and listen for warblers such as Blackcap, Garden Warbler and Chiffchaff, plus Willow Warbler during passage periods, along with common woodland species such as Great, Blue, Coal and Long-tailed Tits, and Chaffinch, Greenfinch and Goldfinch.
