Seabirds dominated the rare birds of the region, with Red-footed Booby (Devon), Brown Booby (Cornwall), South Polar Skua and Scopoli's Shearwaters on Scilly pelagics and the usual Forster's Tern in Dorset.
AVON
CLEVEDON-WESTON-SUPER-MARE: Big flocks of post-breeding Black-headed Gulls moving back into Avon included Mediterranean Gulls at Uphill, Sand Point and Avonmouth.
SEVERNSIDE: There were two Common Scoters (3rd), a Black-necked Grebe (11th), two Ruff, two Sanderling, an Avocet, Black-winged Stilt (details please), Little Ringed Plovers, Greenshanks, Whimbrels, a Yellow-legged Gull, Mediterranean Gulls, two Sandwich Terns, an Arctic Tern (6th), Short-eared Owl (9th and 15th), two Wheatears, two Whinchats and a few Tree Pipits and Yellow Wagtails month. Nine Bar-tailed Godwits were at Oldbury (9th), with a few Black-tailed Godwits trickling back. Pilning Wetland…
