In brief, the region had an exceptional month of rarities, including Northern Parula, Black-and-white-Warbler, two Bobolinks, a Cliff Swallow, and a Northern Harrier from across the Atlantic, supported by Red-footed and Brown Boobies, and a South Polar Skua at sea, and Pallas’s Grasshopper and Eastern Olivaceous Warblers, plus a Yellow-breasted Bunting from the east!
AVON
CLEVEDON-WESTON-SUPER-MARE: A Swift was over Weston-super-Mare (17th). Sand Bay held 38 Whimbrels, and a few Sanderlings and Curlew Sandpipers (1st). Clevedon-Yeo had a Curlew Sandpiper (10th), Spotted Redshank (17th), Greenshank, Merlin and White Wagtails. Sand Point logged an Arctic Skua (19th), Osprey, Marsh Harrier, Merlin, Hobby, Grasshopper Warbler and Firecrest.
