Still arguably the UK’s top rarity hotspot. Its location just off the toe of Cornwall means that it gets North American vagrants, plus migrants travelling to and from the UK and the European continent. So, its great appeal, especially in autumn, is that just about anything can turn up, and often does, from absolute ‘megas’ to semi-regular ‘rarities’, such as Solitary Sandpiper or Melodious Warbler.
Whenever you visit, you won’t be short of experienced birdwatchers and guides to learn from, the beaches are beautiful, the waters clear, and the weather warm. Birding heaven, in other words.
