These two Birmingham parks, just a stone’s throw away from each other, offer a surprisingly varied array of birdlife, from waterbirds to passage migrants, and a good list of those that breed.
Perry Hall Park, the larger of the two, is the best for passage migrants, with the River Tame running through the centre of the park, while Perry Park Pool, lying in the shadows of the Alexander Stadium, offers a varied but small selection of wildfowl during the winter months.
We will start the walk in Perry Park, where the pool will be the main interest.
