The Rally is the unapologetically luxurious and expensive ‘Uncle Travelling Matt’ of Ducati's Multistrada V4 line-up. It has off-road chops, of course, but most owners love it for its 30-litre fuel tank, rugged looks, cosseting comfort and the extra compliance of its long-travel suspension, especially fully loaded two-up.
It's based on the all-singing V4 S, with the same spring-valved Granturismo V4 engine, chassis, brakes, electronics and semi-active suspension, but comes with a bigger screen, centrestand, bash plate, spoked wheels (19in up front), 30mm/20mm extra front/rear suspension travel, and that big tank – good for a theoretical 284-mile range.
