Sure, it’s a car event first and foremost. But when you’re super-close to big-name riders going tooth and nail, with an unrivalled view, enthused crowd and beautiful surroundings, Goodwood Revival is one of the best classic races on the calendar.
This year’s bash, 13-15 September, boasted a glittering entry list for the two-part Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy (see page 6), including Pedrosa, Corser, Hickman, McWilliams, Dunlop, Grant, Rutter… and Bike’s own James Haydon.
Barging action made the bikes arguably the most thrilling races of the weekend. Throw in sideways saloons, period clobber, food, music and a unique atmosphere, and it’s obvious why it’s a sell-out event.
