Flight delays are the stuff of travel nightmares, but when your holding cell is Cathay Pacific’s new first-class The Pier lounge in Hong Kong, here’s hoping the plane is grounded. Conceived by Ilse Crawford’s Studioilse, it follows the layout of a luxury apartment. A haven for well-heeled CEOs, celebrities and even royalty, it’s the Fort Knox of airport lounges.
There’s a focus on wellbeing, with massages on demand, intimate library, day suites, handsome dining room (courtesy of Peninsula hotel chefs) and cosy reading nooks.
