HEIRESS TAKES THE REINS OF BEVERAGE GIANT
Zong Fuli, daughter of beverage giant Hangzhou Wahaha Group’s founder Zong Qinghou, has taken the helm, having inherited all the top positions held by her late father.
The elder Zong, who founded Wahaha, headquartered in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, in 1987, died in February. Zong Fuli, 42, is now the group’s legal representative, board chair and general manager. Zong Fuli joined Wahaha after graduating from Pepperdine University in the United States. She has since worked at different posts and became vice chair of the board in December 2021.
Wahaha, which means “laughing child” in Chinese, mainly offers beverages including drinking water, protein drinks, and juices. The Zong family, worth 95 billion yuan ($13.1 billion), was ranked 31st on China’s rich list last year, according…
